Publication Policies & Editorial Ethics – Insightia
Insightia is committed to high-quality open access publishing and the highest ethical standards.
These policies define our practices regarding open access, peer review, copyright, archiving, authorship,
ethical clearance, data sharing, AI use, and editorial responsibilities. They follow international best
practices such as COPE, DOAJ, and ICMJE.
Open Access Policy
Insightia is a fully open access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon
publication, with no subscription or paywall barriers.
- All published articles are accessible without registration or fees.
- Articles are published under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license.
- Authors retain copyright and grant Insightia a non-exclusive right to distribute the work.
Peer-Review Policy
All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure objectivity and quality.
- Author and reviewer identities are concealed.
- At least two independent experts review each manuscript.
- Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor.
- Authors may appeal decisions; additional reviewers may be consulted.
- All submissions and reviews remain strictly confidential.
Licensing Policy
Insightia uses liberal Creative Commons licensing to promote reuse and open scholarship.
- All articles are published under CC BY 4.0.
- Free reuse, redistribution, and adaptation are permitted with proper attribution.
- Authors may share their work on personal or institutional platforms.
Archiving & Preservation Policy
Insightia ensures long-term preservation of published content through recognized archiving services.
- Digital preservation via LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Portico, or PKP PN.
- DOIs and metadata are registered through CrossRef.
- Immediate self-archiving by authors is permitted with DOI citation.
Authorship Policy
Authorship follows ICMJE and COPE guidelines. Only those making substantial intellectual
contributions qualify as authors.
- Significant contribution to study design, data collection, or analysis.
- Drafting or critical revision of the manuscript.
- Final approval and accountability for the published version.
- Ghost or gift authorship is strictly prohibited.
- All funding sources and conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
Ethical Clearance Policy
Research involving humans, animals, or sensitive materials must have appropriate ethical approval.
- IRB or Ethics Committee approval is mandatory where applicable.
- Informed consent must be obtained for human studies.
- Clinical trials must follow WHO and SPIRIT guidelines.
- If ethical approval is not required, authors must clearly justify this.
Data Sharing Guidelines
Insightia supports open data to promote transparency and reproducibility.
- A Data Availability Statement is required for all research articles.
- Authors are encouraged to deposit data in public repositories (Zenodo, Dryad, OSF).
- Restrictions on data sharing must be clearly explained.
- Editors may request access to data during review.
AI Use Policy
Insightia follows COPE guidance on the ethical use of AI tools.
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
- Any substantive AI use must be transparently disclosed.
- Authors retain full responsibility for all content.
Editorial Responsibilities
- Ensure fair, rigorous, and unbiased peer review.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical oversight.
- Handle appeals, complaints, and corrections transparently.
- Make decisions based solely on academic merit.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
- Declare conflicts of interest.
- Provide timely, constructive, and ethical reviews.
- Report suspected misconduct to editors.
Special Issue Policy
- Special issues follow the same peer-review standards.
- Editor-in-Chief retains full oversight.
- Guest editor contributions cannot exceed 25% of an issue.
Plagiarism Policy
- All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools.
- Plagiarized manuscripts are rejected or retracted.
- Serious cases may be reported to institutions or funders.
Article Retraction Policy
- Retractions follow COPE guidelines.
- Retracted articles remain accessible but clearly marked.
- Minor errors are corrected via errata.
Withdrawal Policy
- Withdrawals after acceptance are discouraged.
- APC fees are non-refundable after acceptance.
- Excessive withdrawals may be recorded editorially.
APC Waiver Policy
- Fee waivers may be granted for financial hardship.
- Requests must be made before submission.
- Decisions are confidential and case-specific.
